13.3 Cleaning and service

Periodically clean the weighing pan, the draft cover, the housing, and the terminal of your balance using the brush supplied with it.

To clean the weighing chamber thoroughly, pull the draft cover and/or draft disk (which on the UMX balance

is made up of several parts) and the weighing pan vertically up and off (on the MX/UMX balances it may be

necessary to turn the weighing pan slightly to remove it). When you replace these parts, make sure they are

in the correct position (see Section 2).

Your balance is made from high quality, resistant materials and can therefore be cleaned with a commercially

available, mild cleaning agent. Observe the following instructions:

– Never use cleaning agents containing solvents or abrasives – this can cause damage to the foil cover of

the terminal and the glass cover of the display!

– Take care that no liquids penetrate into the balance, the terminal, or the AC adapter!

– Never open the balance, the terminal, or the AC adapter: they do not contain any components that can be

cleaned, repaired, or replaced by the user!
